Saddam hanging videos

The webspace is awash with video clips showing saddam's hanging in all its gruesome details. Even I have seen the video and it was quite disturbing to realise that we (including me) find a very sadistic delight is watching a man being killed (I would not like to term it as justice being met -- thats a different debate altogether).

Is this some kind of erosion in human sensibilities - that we find immense pleasure in watching another human being killed. It puts a seed of doubt in my mind .. deep down are we all killers who find glee in killing others?

I am not going into the facts as to whether saddam was a tyrant, a killer etc (He probably is all of these) but every one including saddam needs to have dignity in death and one wonders whether the last moments of a person on earth needs to be splashed around so much.

People can hammer me saying that anyone whose sensibilities are offended need not watch such videos but it brings to forefront the question - who are the people who take pleasure in publishing such videos and who are the people for whom it is published.
